Clarinda Edges Atlantic 5-4 in Boy’s Tennis

(Clarinda) The Clarinda Cardinals defended their home court on Friday with a 5-4win over Atlantic in a boys’ tennis match.

Clarinda won four of the six singles matches, and Atlantic took two of three in doubles.

Creighton Bird topped Zayden Parker at number #1, 8-1. Preston Harter picked up a win for the Trojans with an 8-1 win over Hayden Hash at #2. Aidan Johnson of Clarinda downed Monte Smith of Atlantic at number #3, 8-3, and Ian Smith defeated Rayden Wheeler of Atlantic at number #4, 8-4. Michael Hocamp topped Wyatt Manes 8-6 at #5, and Eli Cox downed Koen Juhl at #6, 8-1.

In doubles, Parker/Harter of Atlantic downed Hash/Johnson of Clarinda, at #1, 8-4. Bird/Smith of Clarinda took Smith/Wheeler of Atlantic at #2, 8-3, and Hocamp/Juhl picked up a win for Atlantic at number #3 doubles over Manes/Cox, 9-7.
