(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County is getting ready for a construction project this summer on P 28 and Wagon Road. The road will be closed for a significant amount of time with a long detour and Supervisor Maggie Armstrong says it will affect more than local residents — it will affect schools, local businesses, campers and any traffic that regularly runs on Wagon Road north of Stuart. Armstrong says they will work on getting the word out about the detour
The detour will be from south to north on White Pole Road going west, then north on Iowa Highway 25, then east on Montieth Road / F51 back to Wagon Rd. Armstrong says they will have a progress on their website about the construction of Wagon Road
Supervisor Mike Dickson and Armstrong both say keeping the community informed of the project once it starts is important
Armstrong says that if everything goes according to plan that work will begin on May 18.
