(Guthrie Center, IA) — The Guthrie County Supervisors held a public hearing and then approved the FY2026-27 budget.
The proposed budget for Guthrie County is approximately $27.5 million. County Auditor Dani Fink made the presentation during the public hearing and explained that property taxes are going down slightly.
Valuations are up slightly countywide, debt, TIF and rural and the levy rates are down slightly in General Basic, General Supplement, and Rural Basic. Fink also identified key areas for the future that will affect the county: the P28 Wagon Road construction project, the White Pole Road construction project, EMS, and property tax reform from the state.

Nobody from the public spoke during the public hearing and afterward the supervisors voted 5-0 to approved Resolution 26-30 for the FY2026-27 budget.
The Supervisors also approved a Budget Amendment adding $125,000 to the Board of Supervisors budget. And approved an allocation of $13,500 to work on fences, dirt work, tree removal and seeding at the County farm which was well within the $30,000 budgeted.
