(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines says a Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado watch is in effect for much of southwest and west central Iowa.
Forecasters say there is a risk of damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and flash floods.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Harrison, Crawford, Carroll, Audubon, Guthrie, Pottawattamie, and Mills counties is in effect until 7:00 p.m.
The Tornado Watch for Adair, Adams, Taylor, and Union Counties, as well as all of central, south central, southeast, and east central Iowa, is in effect until 9:00 p.m.
