(Harlan) Lewis Central topped the eleven-team field at the Ken Carstens Relays in Harlan on Monday night with 149 points. Treynor claimed second place with 124, and Atlantic finished third with 97.
Lewis Central turned in multiple winning performances. The Titans claimed the Distance Medley Relay title in 3:38.93 and the 4×200 relay in 1:31.69. They also won the 4×100 relay in 43.97. Individually, Kyler McNeal dominated the discus with a throw of 174-03, while Hunter Infranger won the shot put (54-04.00) and placed third in discus (159-08). Billy Gerry took first in the 110-meter hurdles (15:16), and Kevin Coots won the 1600 in 4:30.70, with teammate Evan Lillie finishing second. Coots one of the top distance runners in the state competed in his first 1500 this season. His personal best is 4:18.

For Treynor Cauy Konz swept the 400 (50.23) and 400 hurdles (56.72), while the Distance Medley Relay team placed second (3:56.20).Treynor also impressed, led by Riley Lauver’s high jump victory at 6-00.00. The Cardinals won the Shuttle Hurdle Relay in 59.01 and saw Drew Meyers win the 100 (11.55) and 200 (23.06), with teammate Keatyn Dirks finishing second in the 200 and third in the 100.

Atlantic turned in a strong slate of performances at a competitive track and field meet, highlighted by event wins, personal bests, and several top-three finishes. Atlantic was led by Ethan McNeal, who captured the Long Jump title with a personal-best leap of 21-05.50. McNeal also added a runner-up finish in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 50.97.
The Trojans saw success across multiple relays, including a second-place finish in the 4×400-meter relay, where Ritter, Hagen, Rudy, and Betts posted a season-best time of 3:31.32.
Atlantic’s 800 Sprint Medley Relay team of Elings, Rutherford, Hepler, and Betts placed third in 1:40.93, while the Distance Medley Relay squad of Wiederstein, Robinson, Hagen, and Ritter finished fourth in 4:01.17. The Trojans also earned fourth in the 4×200 (1:34.64) and 4×100 (44.63), and fifth in both the 4×800 (9:12.94) and Shuttle Hurdle Relay (1:05.76).
Individually, Gavin McLaren secured second in the shot put with a throw of 53-00.00, and Zander Killion took third in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.62. Sawyer Tarrell added a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles (58.05), while Mason Betts placed third in the 1600 (4:44.13). Thomas Engler finished fourth in the 3200 (11:56.57), and Dart Hansen was eighth in the 800 (2:17.96).
Harlan opened the running events with a victory in the 800 Sprint Medley Relay, as Nihsen, Shields, Sorensen, and Argotsinger clocked 1:38.94. Jeffrey Gross was a double standout, winning the 3200 in 10:27.58 and later placing fourth in the 1600 (4:48.22). Harlan also took second in the 4×200 relay (1:32.70) and 4×100 relay (44.27), while finishing third in the Distance Medley Relay (3:57.34) and fourth in the 4×400 (3:36.21).
Underwood claimed the 4×800 relay title in 8:53.19 and later added a win in the 4×400 (3:29.14). Charlie Myers contributed with a runner-up finish in the 100 meters (11:58).
Denison-Schleswig rounded out the meet highlights with a win in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:08.48.
