(Area) — The Iowa Girls Coaches Association has named the 2025-2026 girls all state basketball teams.
Izzy Eisbach of Nodaway Valley was named first team all state for the 2nd straight year and was also named the 2A Player of the Year. Eisbach — who is going to NW Missouri St. to play basketball — led the entire state in scoring regardless of class at 32 points per game. She also led the state in field goals made per game and field goal attempts per game. Eisbach was 5th in three pointers made per game and 4th in three point attempts per game. Eisbach finished her career with 2,270 points which ranks 10th in Iowa history.
Taryn Petersen of Exira EHK was named first team all state in Class 1A. Petersen led the Spartans to the state tournament, averaging 20 points a game — Petersen was one of 35 players in the state that averaged 20 or more points per game. The junior was 2nd in the entire state in steals per game at 6.3. Petersen was 2nd team all state in Class 2A last year.
Jaeylynn Petersen of Exira EHK was named third team all state in Class 1A. The Senior averaged 15.9 ppg, 5.8 rbg, and 2.7 steals per game.
Other local players honored were Avah Underwood of St. Albert was Class 1A first team all state for the third year in a row. Senior Anna Hart of Coon Rapids Bayard was named 3rd team all state in Class 1A for the 2nd year in a row. Treynor’s Seniors Nora Konz and Ella Thornton were both 2nd team all state in Class 2A. Cam Richter of AC/GC was selected 3rd team all state in Class 2A.
