(Creston) Creston Police report four arrests over the weekend, ranging from OWI, Interference with Official Acts, driving while barred, and domestic abuse assault.
January 9, 2026 – 11:30 a.m.
Ava Nicole Sales, 19, of 1602 C Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, was arrested at 302 N. Pine St. on an outstanding warrant issued by an outside agency. The original charge was Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), first offense. Sales was transported to the Union County Jail, where she posted 10% of a $1,000 bond.
January 9, 2026 – 1:50 p.m.
Liliana Cabrera Castro, 49, of 803 W. Nebraska St., Lenox, was arrested in the 1300 block of N. Cherry St. Castro was charged with Interference with Official Acts and Public Intoxication, first offense. She was taken to the Union County Jail, where she posted a $300 cash bond.
January 9, 2026 – 2:52 p.m.
Jairon Darien Oliva Bernal, 26, of 1814 Oak Dr., Osceola, was arrested in the 200 block of S. Maple St. Bernal was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault, first offense, causing bodily injury. He was transported to the Union County Jail and is being held with no bond until seen by a judge.
January 10, 2026 – 5:23 p.m.
Charles Leon Harris, 56, of 1501 N. Lincoln St., was arrested in the Creston Walmart parking lot. Harris was charged with Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Canceled, or Revoked. He was transported to the Union County Jail and released on a promise to appear.
