(Atlantic) The Atlantic Trojans wrestling team is picking up where they left off before the break. The Trojans enter tonight’s double-dual at Denison with an 11-1 record.
Last weekend, the Trojans competed at the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Dual Tournament, where they won three out of four duals. Their only loss was against the top-ranked Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff praised the team’s performance, highlighting victories over Southeast Polk Junior Varsity, Mediapolis, and Lincoln College Prep from Kansas City, Missouri.
Following that tournament, the Trojans traveled to Ida Grove on Tuesday night, where they secured wins against OABCIG, Woodbine, and Logan-Magnolia.
Next up for the Atlantic Trojans is the double-dual meet with Harlan and Denison-Schleswig at Denison tonight. Coach Duff says Denison has a full lineup and is competing well. He expects a hard-fought battle against Harlan.
Atlantic has another quick turnaround again on Saturday with the Rollin Dyer Wrestling Tournament on their home mat. The Tournament features 17 teams and starts at 10:00 a.m.
Meanwhile, Donovan Hedrington scored his 106th career victory on Tuesday, Jayden Harter is also closing in on 100 career wins, and Braxton Hass is just seven wins away from securing his 150th career victory.
