(Atlantic) The Atlantic and Glenwood basketball teams square off for the second time tonight. The Atlantic girls rallied in the first meeting to defeat the Rams 43-39. The Rams enter the contest riding a four-game winning streak.
Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the Rams are playing with a lot of confidence and shooting the ball well. The Rams are led by Maggie McChesney, who leads the conference in scoring, averaging just under 24 points per game. Maggie Smith is shooting 37 percent from behind the arc.
Atlantic Head Boys’ Basketball Coach Dalton Franken says they must identify point guard Jack Johnson, and Evan Stanislav. The duo is averaging 10 and 15 points per game, respectively.
The Rams are 5-3 and have lost three straight coming into tonight’s contest with the Trojans. Atlantic is looking to end a four-game skid. Coach Franken is encouraged by the team’s bench play.
The girls’ game tips off at 6:00 p.m. We will broadcast both games on KS 95.7 F.M. and live-stream them on westerniowatoday.com TV and YouTube. The pregame show starts at 5:45.
