Girls Wrestling Results: Clarinda Wins Lynx Tourney; Hilgenberg Dominates For Bulldogs

(Council Bluffs, IA) — Clarinda won the Lynx Girls Wrestling Tournament on Monday night — the Cardinals scored 134 points ahead of Glenwood in 2nd with 126.  Logan Magnolia was third with 121; Riverside 4th at 117 and Treynor rounded out the top 5 with 77 points.

Clarinda was led by three champions — Elayna Kirchner at 125; Kylar Downey at 130; and Lily Weinreich at 140.

Jersey Hilgenberg dominated the 100 pound class for Riverside — going 4-0 with 2 falls and 2 tech falls.  The Bulldogs Hailey Harvey won at 115 going 2-0 with 2 falls.  Rylei Price won at 155 going 3-0 with a 12-9 win the title match over Giana Garcia of Denison Schleswig.

ATU was led by Sophia Hazen who won the 105 pound bracket, going 2-0 with a fall and tech fall.  Cecilia Forrester was 2nd at 100 pounds going 3-1 with 3 falls.

Glenwood had two champions — Audrina Johansen at 120 was 2-0 with 2 falls and Breanne Grap at 135 was 3-0 with 3 falls.

Griswold had three wrestlers compete at the varsity level with Aleah Smith 4th at 235, Brianna Dofner 5th at 120 and Zoey Baker 6th at 145.

Elle Stephens of Harlan lost her first match of the year 8-5 to Kylar Downey of Clarinda in the 130 finals — Stephens won by fall in the semis.

Logan Magnolia had one champ — Teagan Carritt won at 145 pounds going 2-0 with 2 falls.

Red Oak had two 2nd place finishers — Jadeyn McAlpin at 135 and Amber Rea at 140.

Treynor had three 3rd place finishers — Joslynn Kenealy at 145, Liz Young at 155, and Amelia Grashorn at 170.
