(Fort Dodge, IA) — Ashlyn Rau and Julia Heslink of Harlan both got on the deck in the Class 3A Girls State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge. Rau, a sophomore, finished in 10th place at 18:45.6 which is an improvement from her 19th place finish last season. Heslink is a freshman and won all state honors in 12th place at 18:56.5. Harlan finished 9th place as a team.
Senior Katrina Williams of Atlantic finished in 96th place with a time of 21:12.7.
Junior Grace Berglund of Glenwood finished 23rd (19:21.0). Senior Caitlin Hebel of Glenwood finished 73rd (20:33.5). There were 132 runners that finished the race.
Senior Marissa Ferebee of Pella won her third straight state title, winning by 15 seconds at 17:47.9. Ferebee led the Dutch to the team title with 31 points. Des Moines Christian was 2nd at 113 and Mt Vernon Lisbon 3rd with 136.
