(Neola) Two people died in a car-pedestrian accident in Pottawattamie County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Sunday evening, around 7:03 p.m., on Interstate 880 near the 8.6-mile marker. Authorities identified the deceased as 27-year-old Til Baswa and a two-year-old juvenile, both from Des Moines.
According to the report, 27-year-old Brody Barrier of Neola, Iowa, was driving a 2021 Chevy K2500 eastbound on 880 and came across a non-contact vehicle parked in the middle of the road that had just struck a deer. Barrier took evasive action to the north of the car, entered the median, and hit two pedestrians who were passengers of the parked 2021 Toyota Four Runner.
