(Treynor, IA) — Treynor has already clinched the Class 1A, District 8 title — last week the Cardinals thumped Red Oak 56-0. Ethan Hill threw for 151 yards on 8 of 10 passing and 3 TD. Seven different receivers caught passes, 4 for TDs. Jett Sornson only carried it 3 times but ran for 68 yards including a 49 yard TD. Treynor had a lot of short fields and Head Coach Jeff Casey says everybody got a chance to play. He does say he wanted to see his team make some improvements this past week
Treynor pretty much put the game away early against Red Oak — Casey says it does not hurt when Sornson returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for a TD
Treynor’s offense has put up some points this year — they average a little over 44 points a game but their defense has created turnovers and played pretty good as well says Casey
Treynor is 6-1 and ranked #4 in the Radio Iowa poll and #5 in the IHSAA rankings — the Cardinals visit winless Missouri Valley this Friday.
