(Neola) Treynor’s girls’ cross country team had an outstanding performance at the Tri-Center Invitational Meet on Tuesday, placing four runners in the top ten and scoring an impressive 36 points to secure the team title. Harlan followed closely behind, finishing with 45 points and three runners in the top ten.
Lily Miller led the Cardinals with a strong second-place finish, followed by Madalyn Kerkman in sixth, Madeline Knispel in ninth, and Lily Yochum in tenth. Kadence Kotrous rounded out the scoring for Treynor with an 18th-place finish.
Ashlyn Rau of Harlan claimed the individual title, completing the race in a time of 18:38.09. Julia Hesling finished third, while Ava Freund placed 12th, Josie Sonderman was 15th, and Allie Anderson completed the top twenty with a 22nd-place finish.
Atlantic took third place in the team standings with a total of 75 points. Katrina Williams led the Trojans with a seventh-place finish, followed by Kaitlyn Hickman in 13th, Gabrielle Engler in 17th, Leighton Wailes in 24th, and Ximena Mendez-Cordero in 30th.
Tri-Center secured fourth place with 104 points, led by Reese Ditmer’s 14th-place finish. Jillian Budge finished 23rd, Brielle Kramer was 25th, Lana Van Arsdol came in 28th, and Hadley Divelbess placed 35th.
Shenandoah finished in fifth place, with Ava O’Rourke leading the team with an eighth-place finish. Lilly Mather followed closely in 11th, and Susie Babe finished 27th. Ellison Holste and Sloane McGinnis placed 64th and 70th, respectively.
