(Neola) Shenandoah placed two runners in the top ten and captured the team title with 77 points at the Tri-center invitational Cross Country Meet on Tuesday. Woodbine placed two in the top ten and finished second with 90 points.
Carter Buttry and Mason Sells led the Mustangs with sixth- and eighth-place finishes, respectively. Luke Daoust was 18th, and Connor O’Hara ran 22nd. Will Stevenson rounded out the scoring with a 31st-place finish.
Aiden Summerfield led Woodbine with a runner-up finish, Brody Cogdill finished 12th, Vincent Meisinger finished 15th, Cory Wagner finished 32nd, and Blaze Pryor rounded out the Tigers’ scoring in 39th.
For Atlantic, Mason Betts had his best showing of the season, finishing fourth place in a time of 16.47.22. Anthony Akers finished 19th, Preston Williams, 21st, Thomas Engler, 28th, and Kouper Kinney rounded out the scoring in 35th place.
Haven Weers from Tri-Center won the individual title with an impressive time of 16:00.27. His teammates also performed well, with Evan Wham finishing in 13th place, Nicholas Dahir in 16th, Micah McCarty in 41st, and Landon Abel in 42nd. Tri-Center finished fourth overall in the team standings, earning a total of 103 points.
For Harlan, Jeffrey Gross led the team with a strong third-place finish, clocking in at 16:43.03. Other Harlan runners included Brogan Schechinger in 17th place, Erik Heslink in 20th, Nathan Sandquist in 34th, and Kobe Kimmen in 69th
