(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors set dates and times for two public hearings to amend Ordinance 7, Veterans Emergency Assistance Program.

The public hearings will be held September 16th at 9:05 a.m. and October 7th at 9:05 a.m.
In other action, the Supervisors approved providing up to $19,000 from LOST funds for the Cold Springs Campground picnic shelter remodel, which includes an enclosure with slider windows and steel siding on the ends.
The Supervisors also received a report from Auditor’s Clerk Hannah Richter on the results of the August 25th post election audit of the special City of Lewis election within the absentee precinct.
The Supervisors then held the first-tier canvass of the 2025 Special City of Lewis Eleciton results. David J. Raymond defeated Russel Miller 55 to 47 for the at-large council seat.
The board received a report from County Engineer Trent Wolken. He said the deck and handrails have been poured on the bridge south of the landfill, and that project could be completed within a couple of weeks. The bridge project on Rockport Road, south of Massena, began last week. A preconstruction meeting is being held today for Bridge #73 southeast of Griswold. While no start date has been set, crews hope to begin work as soon as possible. The South N28 asphalt overlay project is scheduled to begin on September 9. A preconstruction meeting still needs to be held for that project, and the start date will be finalized at that time.
The board also received a report from Environmental Health and a quarterly financial report from County Treasurer Tracey Marshall.
