(Harlan, IA) — After a loss last season in Week Five, Harlan was 2-3 on the football season. Being under .500 simply does not happen to the Cyclones and the team rebounded to win five in a row to qualify for the playoffs before exiting in the first round. Now, Head Coach Todd Bladt is looking for something more than a 6-4 record and he kept the kids busy this summer
Going into practice, Harlan is set at quarterback with Senior Gabe Arkfeld returning but Bladt is looking for starters at the offensive skill spots and there is some competition on defense as well
Harlan will be in Class 3A District 6 with Atlantic, Carroll, Creston, Greene County and Perry. Bladt says he is not worried about the new district, he is just told where to go and who to play. In the meantime, expectations are always high for Harlan and Bladt says his approach to that is real simple — be better today than you were yesterday
Harlan will open their season on Thursday, August 28 at Underwood.
