(Exira, IA) — Exira’s City Council met this past Wednesday and among the items on the agenda was to approve the submitting an application for the Housing Trust Fund. City Clerk Meg Andersen
Exira homeowners will be able to use the money for major home improvements such as roof replacement, new siding, new furnace, new windows as examples.
The Council also got updates on road projects in town
In addition, the Council approved a fire department volunteer stipend program with $10,000 FY 2026 allocation. It also approved a fire department LOSAP administration and FY 2026 allocation of $167 per eligible member. The 100 N Cottage Street proposal was reviewed and decision tabled for a later date. Also, the closure from Main St to Harrison was approved for September 27, 2025, El Compadre alcohol sales license renewal, a fence permit for 202 S Jefferson and a garage permit at 215 N Kilworth.
