(Madison County, IA) — The Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman is filing a temporary restraining order against the county sheriff’s office. Heather Stancil made the filing late Friday night to allegedly prevent authorities from accessing her phone and laptop. Both items were seized from her residence after police executed a search warrant. This comes days after the Madison County Sheriff’s Office report accused Stancil of election misconduct and voter intimidation regarding a Facebook post. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa Central Division is waiting for the Madison County Attorney to weigh in on the case before deciding on the restraining order.
