(Franklin Co) A Hampton man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Franklin County Sunday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 1:08 a.m. 35-year-old Ty Borcherding was driving a 2024 Subaru Forester southbound on E. RR Street at a very high rate of speed. The Subaru left the roadway, vaulted and struck the concrete elevator. The vehicle then came to rest against the metal door where it caught fire.
Ty Borcherding was transported to the Ewing Funeral Home.
The accident remains under investigation.
