(Cerro Gordo County) One person died and three others suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Cerro Gordo County on Saturday.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 9:26 a.m. on Highway 65 and 330th Street. Authorities say 85-year-old Joseph T. Costello, of Plymouth, Iowa, died in the crash.
According to the report, Joseph Costello was driving a 2016 Lincoln MKS sedan eastbound on 330th Street. Valinda Imus, 34, of Northwood, Iowa, was driving a 2000 Ford Expedition southbound on Highway 65. Costello began to drive through the intersection and was struck by the Ford Expedition on the driver’s side.
The three people injured in the crash are identified as 83-year-old Carol J. Costello, of Plymouth, Iowa, 34-year-old Valinda Imus, and 30-year-old Deandre Harvey, of Fort Dodge. The Mason City Fire Department transported the three individuals to Mercy One Hospital. The Mason City Fire Department Transported Joseph Costello to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
