(Clear Lake) A 22-year-old driver died in a single-vehicle crash in Cerro Gordo County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened early this morning on 4th Avenue South and South Shore Drive in Clear Lake. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Zachary Hill, of Forest City, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
According to the report, the driver of a 2015 Ford Fusion, traveling at a high rate of speed, attempting to elude law enforcement, lost control of the car, struck a tree, an unoccupied house, and two parked vehicles, killing the driver.
The Clear Lake Police Department, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, and Clear Lake Fire Department assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
