(Atlantic) — The Atlantic baseball team wrapped up a strong week, winning three of four games and improving to 8-4 since June 13.
The Trojans split a doubleheader with St. Albert on Tuesday, rolled past Panorama 13-3 on Wednesday, and closed the week with a 7-5 road win over Red Oak—avenging a loss to the Tigers the week before.
Head Coach Nathan Block says the team’s progress shows in the numbers. Atlantic’s batting average has climbed to, (.259), while the fielding percentage has jumped from (.890 to .954), a notable improvement over last season. Block credits the gains to the extra work his players are putting in outside of games.
The Trojans are (9-14), and travel to (6-14), Greene County on Monday night. Coach Block says both coaches wanted to get another game in before the post-season.
The game starts at 7:30 p.m., according to Bound.
As far as post-season play, the Trojans open Class 3A Substate play on Friday, July 11, at Harlan. Greene County opens Class 3A Substate play at Heelan.
