(Winnebago County) One person died, and three others were hurt when an SUV crossed the centerline and struck two motorcycles in northern Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened in Winnebago County at around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, on Highway 9, west of 150th Avenue. Authorities say 21-year-old David Raak, of Spirit Lake died in the crash. The injured are identified as 21-year-old Kayla Hudelson, of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, 64-year-old Daniel Raak, of Spirit Lake, and 95-year-old Leroy Weaver, of Buffalo Center, Iowa.
According to the report, Weaver was driving a 2015 Buick Encore eastbound on Highway 9, and for unknown reasons crossed the centerline, sideswiped a westbound 2010 Harley Davidson driven by Daniel Raak, and collided head-on with a westbound 2004 Harley Davidson, driven by David Raak, ejecting the passenger.
The four victims were transported by ambulance to Mercy One North Hospital. The Lake Mills, and Forest City Ambulance services assisted with the transports.
