(Maquoketa, IA) — According to Jackson County authorities, one person was killed in a two car crash just north of Maquoketa, Iowa on the 4th of July. A 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser was travelling northbound on Hurstville Road. For an unknown reason, the Chrysler crossed the center divider line and struck a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder in a head on collision. The accident occurred at 4:30 pm Friday afternoon. One person was killed on the scene and one person was transported by air to University of Iowa hospital and is being treated for severe injuries. The names of the victims have not been released until the families have been notified.
