(Greene County, Iowa) One person died when a car collided with a tractor on Tuesday afternoon in Greene County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 25, south of 320th Street. Authorities say 63-year-old Michael Thomas Dahl, of Scranton, Iowa, died in the crash.
According to the report, a 1969 Mercury driven by 62-year-old Neal Schoon of Bayard and a 1969 Farmall tractor driven by Dahl were both traveling southbound on Highway 25 when the Mercury struck the rear of the tractor. The impact pushed the tractor into the west ditch, ejecting Dahl from the Farmall, causing fatal injuries. The car came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the accident.
