(Fayette County) A 76-year-old bicyclist from West Union was killed Sunday morning after being struck by a minivan in Fayette County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:14 a.m. on Juniper Road near Kitty Road. Authorities say the bicyclist was riding southbound when they were hit by a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, also traveling south.
The minivan was driven by 72-year-old Steven Steinberg of Ossian. The bicyclist, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, West Union Police Department, and West Union Fire Department assisted at the scene.
