(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County is joining with two other Iowa counties to repair some much needed bridges that have become eligible to fix using federal grant money. Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern reported at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting that an opportunity came forward to join with Page and Pottawattamie Counties to apply for a federal grant worth between $32 and $34 million dollars however Sebern says its a tight turnaround with the projects on an August deadline
Sebern says that Guthrie County will take the lead on this grant and by bundling this together, it has a greater likelihood of being accepted and one contractor would be used for all the projects. The Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve the amendment of the County Engineer Five Year Plan.
Sebern also presented a right of way contract for the bridge over Beaver Creek south of Dale City on Victory Trail which has delays
The Board voted 5-0 to approve the right of way contract.
