Mary Pearl Osborn, the daughter of Robert Leslie and Anna Margaret (Keuter) Nuzum, was born July 31, 1948, in Council Bluffs, IA. She died June 11, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, NE, at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 11 days.
Mary was raised in Missouri Valley, Iowa, and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1966. She attended Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing for one year. On August 12, 1967, she married Edward Osborn in Treynor, IA. The couple moved to Idaho for a short time where they managed a hotel before settling in Oakland and Carson area. Mary began working for Hummel Insurance and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
She enjoyed reading, Diamond Dotting, and socializing with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward; her parents, and her siblings, Helen Brandenburg and husband Carl, and Sharon Curry and husband Mark.
She is survived by her brother Paul Nuzum and wife Marolyn of Council Bluffs, IA; her sisters-in-law , Virginia Westphal and Mary Jane McAvoy; and many other relatives and friends.
An open public inurnment of cremated remains for Mary and Edward Osborn, will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland, IA. Memorials may be given to Oakland Fire and Rescue in Oakland. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
