(Shelby Co) The Shelby County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved salary adjustments for elected officials for Fiscal Year 2026, following recommendations made earlier this year by the county’s Compensation Board.
According to the meeting minutes, the board passed Resolution No. 2025-19, which outlines the approved salary increases for several county officials, effective July 1, 2025.
The Compensation Board originally met on January 23, 2025, to review and recommend salary adjustments. Most elected officials were recommended for a 3.5% raise. However, the Board of Supervisors made a slight modification to the sheriff’s proposed increase.
While the Compensation Board recommended a 9.5% raise for the Shelby County Sheriff, the Supervisors approved a 6% raise, bringing the sheriff’s annual salary to $117,565.
The final approved salary adjustments are as follows:
Auditor: $76,276 (3.5% increase)
County Attorney: $82,565 (3.5% increase)
Recorder: $76,276 (3.5% increase)
Sheriff: $117,565 (6% increase)
Supervisors: $37,459 (3.5% increase), with the Chairman receiving an additional $1,500 stipend
Treasurer: $76,276 (3.5% increase)
The Supervisors also adopted a resolution appropriating funds to operate all county offices and departments for Fiscal Year 2026, beginning July 1, 2025.
