Game One, Best of Three Championship Series
LSU 1, Coastal Carolina 0
The Chanticleers 26 game winning streak comes to an end as the Tigers Kade Anderson throws a 3 hit shutout, striking out 10 and walking 5, throwing 130 pitches. Anderson gave up 2 walks in the top of the first inning but got a strikeout to end the threat. There was a 2 out walk in the 2nd inning but he followed it again with a strikeout. Coastal started the third inning with a hit by pitch and their first hit but Anderson got a fielders choice, strikeout and a runner was thrown out trying to steal. After a leadoff double in the 4th, Anderson proceeded to strike out the side. There was only one inning where Anderson retired the Chanticleers in order but he always found a way to pitch out of trouble.
The only run in the game came in the bottom of the first inning when Derek Curiel reached on a walk and moved to 2nd base on a grounder. Steven Milam followed with a RBI single and that turned out to be the game winning hit. Coastal starter Cameron Flukey went 6 innings and allowed just one earned run on 4 hits, walked 2 and struck out 9.
