(Avoca, IA) — The AHSTW softball team has dealt with injuries and a tough schedule with a young squad. Head Coach Katie Pace is not making excuses for a 3-11 record but when you cannot play with your expected team, it makes things difficult.
There have been highlights, though, like Senior Sienna Christian who is the team’s leading pitcher and hitter — batting .529 and in the circle striking out 55 batters in 55 innings. Christian did not play with the Lady Vikes last year but she has made a big impact says Pace
Pace’s daughter Clara has overcome a early season slump to now hit .500 with six doubles and a triple and her Mom says she had to overcome some injuries
The Lady Vikes have missed their other senior Loralei Wahling who has been battling a hand injury for the last two weeks but she has been able to play in the field
AHSTW will host IKM Manning tonight.
