(Lewis) John Lorenzen, a fisheries biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, says nearly 8,000 wipers are going into Lake Manawa in Council Bluffs. He says the surplus, if available, will be stocked in Lake One and Lake Three at the Schildberg Recreation Area in Atlantic.
Lorenzen says Wipers are a mix between a White Bass and a Striped Bass.
Lorenzen says they like to stock Wipers in lakes that have gizzard Shad.
Lorenzen says the surplus would be stocked in Lake One and Lake Three at the Schildberg Recreation Area. “If we have surplus, we will stock those two ponds, giving anglers another fishing possibility, and they are fun to catch,” stated Lorenzen.
