Louisville 8, Arizona 3
The Cardinals used a 6 run 8th inning to eliminate the Wildcats from the College World Series. Adonys Guzman hit a solo HR in the third and Arizona had a 3-1 lead. Jake Munroe started the Cardinals rally reaching first on an error and Eddie King singled. ‘Zona went to the bullpen and brought in their closer Tony Pluta but Tague Davis singled to load the bases. Zion Rose followed with another base hit to score two runs and Louisville had a 4-3 lead. After a grounder that forced a throw home to retire Davis, Kamau Neighbors singled again that scored two runs including on a throwing error. Alex Alicea then laid down a squeeze bunt to score Neighbors and then Matt Klein capped the inning with another RBI single and the Cardinals cruised to the win to keep their Series hopes alive.
Coastal Carolina 6, Oregon St. 2
The Chanticleers stayed in the winners bracket with a convincing win over the Beavers. Jacob Morrison got the start and went 7 2/3 innings allowing just 1 ER on 5 hits, walked none and struck out 7. Morrison gave up two singles in the 8th inning and made way for the bullpen — Hayden Johnson got out of the inning with a fly out. Gavin Turley homered for Oregon St. leading off the 9th and AJ Singer got a one single and Jacob Krieg got a 2 out walk. Carolina went back to the pen and Ryan Lynch got the strike out to end the game.
