(Audubon, IA) — Things have not gone as planned for the Audubon Baseball team but Head Coach Eric Borkowski is determined to keep pushing forward. The Wheelers are 1-9 and since they played a tight game against Tri Center only to fall 16-14, Audubon has lost five straight blowouts. The pitching has not been consistent — Senior Adam Obrecht and Junior Brody Schultes are the two best starters but its been hard for them to throw strikes says Borkowski
Offensively, Schultes and Junior Carson Wessel are hitting well, both at a .367 clip — Wessel leads the team with 11 RBI. Borkowski has seen more progress with the bats this year and has seen tremendous improvement in Obrecht is hitting .357
The schedule lightens up in the next three games — not that they will be easy but the Western Iowa Conference has been a bear and tonight the Wheelers go out of the WIC to host West Central Valley who is 3-5
After tonight, Audubon hosts IKM Manning on Thursday and hosts AHSTW on Friday.
