(Council Bluffs, IA) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors have set the grievance appeal hearing date for the county engineer John Rasmussen. Rasmussen has been the Pottawattamie County Engineer since 2004 and when talking about the renewal of other county contracts, the board elected to terminate Rasmussen’s contract.
The county elected to go in a different direction with a vote of 3-2 voting in favor of terminating the Engineer’s contract. This comes after they approved multiple contracts with a 3.25 percent increase.
The date of the grievance appeal hearing was set for Monday, June 23.
Supervisors Scott Belt, Tim Wichman and Jeff Jorgensen all voted in favor of the termination. Susan Miller and Brian Shea voted against the termination.
The Supervisors voted in favor of making Brandon Burmeister the interim Engineer until a new county Engineer is hired.
The Board of Supervisors also set a grievance appeal hearing date for Josh Reynolds for next Tuesday, June 17. Reynolds was presented with the Job Knowledge and Skills award back in February.
