(Atlantic) Flag Day, observed on June 14, commemorates the adoption of the United States flag. On this day in 1777, the Second Continental Congress officially approved the Stars and Stripes as the national flag. Each year, the Atlantic Elks Lodge #445 and Atlantic Does #23 host a Flag Day celebration. Atlantic Elks member Kyle Quist says this year’s ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 13, at City Park.
Kyle Quist says the Elks organization is the most potent promoter of Flag Day, as it represents the American nation at its birth. Quist says this year, the Atlantic Elks and Does will host a Flag Day celebration starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, at the Atlantic City Park. He says the meal is free for Veterans and Active Military, plus one guest. Otherwise, the event is open to the public for a free will donation.
The Elks and Does will be serving BBQ Beef with sides. Additionally, Quist is pitching for new members to join the organization. Click on this link for more information—Lodge #445 Welcome.
