(Greenfield) The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides several enrollment opportunities in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) for agricultural producers and landowners. USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is accepting offers for both the General and Continuous CRP.
Dawn Brown, Executive Director of the Adair County Farm Service Agency, says interested landowners can contact the Adair County FSA Office or the FSA Office in your county to let them know you are interested in the program. She says Friday June 6 is the deadline to get those offers submitted, however…
Brown says there is a 27-million-acre cap on the program with the extension of the farm bill. Brown reminds current CRP participants that the primary nesting season is underway, which means no maintenance is allowed until August 1.
Brown reminds producers to report their planted acres. She says the acreage report is due by July 15.
