(Atlantic) Atlantic’s Produce in the Park Farmers Market is back for Summer 2025, and this year’s opening day promises more fun, flavor, and festivities than ever before. according to Market Manager Ciara Hoegh. The season kicks off Thursday, June 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the Atlantic City Park.
Hoegh says this year’s debut event will feature a live performance by the Prairie Gators, a dynamic band with over two decades of experience blending zydeco, bluegrass, vintage country, and gospel into an energetic sound perfect for summer evenings. With their lively mix of accordion, washboard, and bass guitar, the Prairie Gators have entertained crowds at major regional events including Junkstock and Omaha Mardi Gras.
The market will host 27 vendors on opening day, with 19 offering a variety of food products. Attendees can browse fresh early-season produce, farm eggs, and a wide selection of locally raised meats such as beef, pork, chicken, and lamb. Other offerings include honey, sourdough bread, nut and trail mixes, desserts, baked goods, and hand-crafted items. Zipp’s Pizzaria food truck will also be on-site serving up hot slices for hungry shoppers.
Adding to the fun, the June 5 market theme is “Dinosaur Time,” inspired by a viral TikTok trend encouraging people to eat leafy greens like herbivorous dinosaurs—hands optional, forks not required! Free samples of greens like lettuce, spinach, and kale will be available for everyone to try.
The Atlantic YMCA is joining the festivities with a free bounce house for kids, and dinosaur-themed face painting will be available for purchase.
