(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors approved several employment contracts on Tuesday, with the exception of the County Engineer’s.
The Supervisors approved the following contracts at a 3.25 percent increase: Chief Information Officer David Bayer, Human Resources Director Jana Lemrick, Buildings and Grounds Director Jason Slack, Chief Financial Officer Mitch Kay, Planning and Development Director Matt Wyant, GIS Coordinator Jamie Petersen, and Director Chief Medical Examiner Investigator Cody Pane.
The Board left out the contracts for Administrator Veterans Services Office Peggy Becker and Engineer John Rasmussen to discuss separately.
Following a discussion with the Veterans Affairs Commission, the Supervisors approved an amended contract for Peggy Becker with a 3.25-percent increase.
The Supervisors then moved into a motion presented by Supervisor Tim Wichman regarding Engineer John Rasmussen’s contract.
Attorney Matt Wilber warned the Supervisors that John Rasmussen is given the right to request a closed session if the Board was going to get into a critique of his qualifications or job performance.

The board voted three to two to terminate the Engineer’s contract.
Supervisors Susan Miller and Brian Shea voted against terminating the Engineer’s Contract. Supervisors Tim Wichman, Scott Belt and Jeff Jorgensen voted in favor.
