(Cedar Falls) Day one of the Boys State Golf Tournament wrapped up Monday at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, with Waverly-Shell Rock taking the early lead in the Class 3A team standings. The Go-Hawks fired a strong 3-over-par 291 to top the 12-team field. Atlantic sits in ninth place after posting a 314.
Individually, Solon’s Isaiah Zoske and Nevada’s Parker Rodgers are tied atop the leaderboard after both carded impressive rounds of 5-under-par 67. Gilbert’s Ryan Lynch follows closely at 4-under, while Independence’s Jacob Bonefas is 2-under. Waverly-Shell Rock’s Tyler Gade turned in a 1-under 71.
For Atlantic, Brady Wood leads the way with a 5-over-par 77, placing him in a tie for 30th. Sam Brosam and Hudson McLaren each shot 78 and are tied for 35th. Tristan Hayes sits tied for 49th with a 9-over 81. Gage Gross followed with an 82 (T-57), and Trevan Hansen rounded out the team scoring with a 92, currently in 80th place.
