(Red Oak) The Red Oak City Council will hold a public hearing on the fiscal year 2025 Budget Amendment and act on three resolutions at a special meeting this evening. Following the public hearing, the Council will act on the amendment’s approval.
Additionally, in response to an increased workload during a critical period of software conversion and significant process improvements, the Red Oak City Council will decide on a resolution to temporarily reassign a library staff member to assist at City Hall.
City Hall administrative offices are currently experiencing a high volume of work, prompting the need for additional support to ensure staff receive proper training and maintain quality customer service. To help address this need, the Library Director has offered the services of library employee Hannah Shalters for a temporary assignment at City Hall.
Over the next one to two months, Shalters would assist with administrative duties, allowing City Hall staff to focus on adapting to new systems and procedures. During her reassignment, the Library Director will fill her library hours with new part-time staff to ensure uninterrupted service at the library.
Shalter’s wages will be shared across the administrative, water, and sewer departments during this period.
The Council will also act on a resolution of a NEW Coop Tax Increment Payment.
The Special City Council Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Red Oak Fire Station.
