Marvin Gene Carter, the son of Lowell and Ruby (Higgins) Carter, was born June 1, 1948, in Maryville, MO. Marvin died May 25, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 24 days.
Marvin lived in the Omaha area as a child and graduated from South High School in 1966. His first job after high school was at Shellberg’s Rock Quarry, then at the American Beef Plant on maintenance outside of Oakland for 19 years. Marvin then worked in packing houses in Garden City, Kansas and Fort Morgan, Colorado where he met George Schueman in 1973 and started working for him. He retired from Schueman Transfer as a Diesel Mechanic in 2021.
Marvin was known for his love of cars. He worked on everyone’s cars in town!
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Ruby; his son Marvin Carter Jr.; his brothers: James, Lowell, Randy, and David; his In Laws: Gary and Janette Rowe.
Marvin is survived by his wife Donna; his stepchildren: Dawn and wife Jeri, Melinda Comstock and Husband Dave; many grandkids and great grandkids; his daughter-in-law Michelle Kramer; lots of nieces and nephews; his sister Dorothy Buse and her husband Gary, Cinda Frain and husband Jerry, Grace Eyeburg and husband Rick; and his brother Lee Carter.
Marvin’s Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Carson Community Building with the visitation one hour prior, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements.
