(Audubon, IA) — Isaac Jackson of Audubon finished third in the Singles District tournament but because the 2nd place finisher has backed out of the state tournament, Jackson is now a state qualifier. According to Head Coach Maryssa Soder, Audubon has not had a state tournament qualifier in tennis in over 20 years.
The first round of the tennis singles state tournament will be on Tuesday, May 27 and Jackson will take on #3 seed Ruimin Luo of Fairfield. The winner will meet the winner of Keaton Naleon Carlson of Decorah and Parker Stroh of Waterloo Columbus Catholic. The loser will still get to play in the Consolation bracket.
The tournament will be begin at 10:30 am at Byrnes Park in Waterloo.
