(Atlantic) The Atlantic Area Chamber Ambassadors were hosted by TCJ Micro Mart on Friday, May 23, 2025, to celebrate the grand opening of the new ethnic grocery store in Atlantic.
Owner Melyn Yamaguchi grew up helping her parents run a small business on the island and has long dreamed of owning a store of her own. She currently operates a retail business in Omaha, where she noticed that many of her customers were traveling from Sioux City, Cass County and other surrounding areas. Realizing that people were driving over an hour to purchase cultural essentials, Melyn saw a clear need for a local store and found the ideal location in Atlantic to expand her business.
After receiving the keys to her new store in March, Melyn and her family began researching and sourcing the perfect selection of products to serve the local Pacific Islander community. She hopes TCJ Micro Mart will continue to grow and better meet the needs of area residents.
TCJ Micro Mart offers a variety of ethnic foods, clothing, and jewelry indigenous to Micronesian’s and other Pacific Islander’s. The store is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Most items are also available for online ordering and delivery, offering added convenience to customers.
TCJ Micro Mart is located at 704 Walnut Street, Suite #2 in Atlantic.
