(Fort Dodge) A two-vehicle crash in Webster County resulted in the death of a Polk County man and injuries to two others.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that the accident occurred at 4:03 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Highway 20 and P29. Authorities identified the deceased as 82-year-old Hal Chase of Des Moines. The injured individuals were Diane Witt, 78, from Arcadia, Iowa, and Stacie Segebart, 51, from Westside, Iowa.
According to the investigation, Chase was driving a Honda northbound on P59 when he failed to stop at the stop sign controlling access to eastbound Highway 20. His vehicle was then broadsided by an eastbound Lincoln Nautilus driven by Witt.
All three individuals were transported to Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge by Fort Dodge Ambulance. Hal Chase later died from his injuries at the hospital.
