(Carroll, IA) — In the Class 3A Region 2 Final at Carroll National Golf Club, Gilbert and Des Moines Christian both advanced to the State Golf meet and both teams dominated the top six in the individual standings. However, Macy Mueller of Harlan was able to crack the top six in the individual standings and makes to state as well.
Mueller shot a round of 89 that included two birdies and finished in 4th place. Other scores for the Cyclones: Sienna Michels 124; Tobina Bachman 142; Caitlyn Ryan 152. Harlan finished in 11th place in the team standings.

Gilbert won by 39 strokes over Des Moines — 326 to 365 with the Tigers earning low scores from Ava Lohrbach with an Even par 70 that included four birdies on the back 9. Ella Lohrbach of Gilbert finished 2nd with a 73. Courtney Latham of the Lions finished 3rd with an 84. Mueller of Harlan was in 4th place followed by Abigail Thompson of Gilbert in 5th with a 90. Three players tied for 91 — Alyx Swofford of Des Mones Christian, Mia Traeger of Des Moines Christian and Laurent Schmidt of Nevada who also made it to state. (Top 6 and ties advance).
Atlantic girls finished 7th place out of 12 teams. Low round for the Trojans was Emma Rose with a 97 that included two pars. Makenna Schroeder was next with a 99. Rylee Bengel had a 117; Neveah Fewson 130; and Nissa Molgaard a 134.
The Class 3A State Golf Tournament will be at Saddleback Golf Course in Solon May 29-30.
