(Carroll) Twelve teams compete today at the Carroll National Golf Club in a girls’ Class 3A Regional Golf Tournament. The teams include ADM, Algona, Atlantic, Carroll, Creston, Des Moines, Christian, Gilbert, Glenwood, Harlan, Nevada, Perry, and Winterset.
Atlantic Head Coach Brooke Newell says the team will have to shoot around a 370 to advance to the state golf tournament.
Gilbert enters the tournament ranked fifth in Class 3A with an 18-hole average of 357.90. Ava and Ella Lohrbach of Gilbert have average 18-hole scores of 75 and 76.33, respectively. Makenna Schroeder of Atlantic has the eleventh-best average in the field with a 96.2.
