(Glenwood) Mills County Storehouse has been awarded a $25,000 grant from First Interstate Bank and the First Interstate BancSystem Foundation as part of the Bank’s fourth-annual Believe in Local campaign. The campaign recognizes nonprofit organizations making a meaningful difference in their communities.
The Glenwood-based nonprofit, which offers low-cost clothing, household items, and a food pantry, was one of 40 recipients selected from more than 615 nominations across First Interstate’s 14-state service area. Mills County Storehouse was nominated by local bank employees Dee Dee Parriott and Brandi Fauble of the Glenwood branch.
Mills County Storehouse serves families struggling with the rising cost of essentials such as bedding, coats, boots, and furnishings. By accepting donations of gently used goods and offering them at accessible prices, the organization ensures that all proceeds support its food pantry, which plays a vital role in fighting food insecurity in the region.
First Interstate Bank launched Believe in Local in 2022 to support community-focused nonprofits. In addition to this campaign, the Bank donates roughly 2% of its pre-tax earnings annually to local initiatives, supporting areas such as workforce development, early childhood education, and poverty reduction.
