(Griswold, IA) — The Griswold Baseball is basically returning their entire team from last year’s squad that went 6-10. The Tigers did not graduate any seniors and Head Coach Ryan Lockwood will rely on his top two starters who once again will be Bode Wyman and Brayden Lockwood. Wyman had a 3.20 ERA in his seven starts and had 49 strikeouts in 39 innings while Lockwood had a 5.25 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 30 innings. Ryan Lockwood likes what he sees so far in practice
The bats were solid last year for the Tigers, hitting .249 as a club — Wyman hit .429 with 10 RBI and led the team with 19 runs. Zane Johnson hit .392 with 16 RBI and Kobe Klindt batted .318 also with 16 RBI. Lockwood is looking for more power this year after Griswold had just 17 extra base hits
For six straight seasons, the most amount games Griswold won in a season was three until last year when they went 6-10. Lockwood hopes they continue to take steps forward
Griswold opens their season on Monday, May 19 at Atlantic.
